They are decently soft, held up in the washer and did not shrink, and are stretchy enough to fit my abnormally thick calves without squeezing or feeling uncomfortable.One thing to note, however; these socks are THIN. I can see my skin through the thinnest parts, which is the part of the sock covering the top of my foot. These socks are advertised for hiking but they will not hold up and might cause chafing; they will also poorly insulate your feet, so they won't be a good option for cold weather.Overall these feel like decent everyday socks but I would not use them for heavy physical activity or hiking.
