The supplied Sony brand battery was empty and could not be charged. I spent $15 on a spare battery and charger and had to buy a Sony memory stick as this camera doesn't use standard camera SD cards so the prices for parts, chargers, batteries, cards and bodies for those old Cybershot cameras are more It's sensible to just buy a newer camera but damn nostalgia I have 3 cybershot cameras now that work, this one and an older one that uses AA batteries and the same weird memory card tech if you have a PSP -Have game, card memory works, and the cameras have a model number sticker on the base to help you pick up chargers if the sticker has been damaged or removed. Most camera stores can help you identify the model and cable you need. I intend to replace the DC and data cables for these older cameras within the next year and case kits complete their good tech if you have all the items they are great for photos. I paid a higher price than I wanted, the battery was included. I'm a bit sad it doesn't work but the camera is really a winner, it works
