I've always wanted a walkie-talkie, so when my kid asked for one, I grabbed it. Overall I'm glad we bought their walkie-talkies although I haven't heard of the COTRE brand. Pros + Great for smaller hands (may not need the clip attached) + Bigger buttons are easier for kids (and me) to press + The belt clip is welcome, especially the detachable one + They seem sturdy + Rechargeable batteries (but can also use regular AA batteries) ) + Channel tuning and search are easy to use + Built-in weather radio is easy to use, but alerts can be annoying + Twitter/no chirp option is great for kids + Price is very affordable + Waterproof + Battery compartment is very easy to open (why can't more electronics use this switch?!) Cons - Left one on the unplugged charger for days and it would start beeping when the battery was low; surprised that the automatic shutdown did not work - MicroUSB is outdated
