All 1-3 star reviewers had wrong expectations and/or abused this small fan. I bought one 2 years ago and it still works great. I paid $40 for it and it's worth every penny. So if you want an even better deal, grab it now at half price before it goes back up. This little fan literally saved my life when Seattle was hit by unbearable heat a few weeks ago. We are not used to 110 degrees here and with my heart problems I was in serious danger. I couldn't afford to buy a portable parking cooler and the window frames in my old apartment building couldn't accommodate a window air conditioner. I tried and they jumped. How to use this little blue wonder. Get a better quality power cord than the one that comes with the kit. I use a charging cable for my Dyson vacuum and luckily it fits this fan. As a result, the fan blows at least 10 times faster. I put as many ice cubes in the water tank as it can hold and then fill it up with ice water. This makes the fog so cold it looks like it's a real freon air conditioner. I'm totally serious. Then I place it right next to me or in front of me and direct the mist over the neck and chest area. He has to be very close to you, just a few centimeters to feel the icy air and fog. Since it's such a small fan, you can't really expect it to cool the room. It's not meant for that. Don't expect miracles for $20! I also have an Arctic Air and it's about half the quality of this little blue fan. If you follow my instructions, you will be happy with that too. I wish they would build a floor model just like this one. Then it definitely cools the whole room.
