8 TB HUH728080ALE600 ordered from NEWTRONIC SYSTEMS. Of course I'm glad that I tested it quickly. When I first plugged it into my Synology NAS, I thought my fan had failed. Then, after connecting the drive to an external SATA power/data port, I quickly found that the drive itself was making a grinding noise as it tried to spin up a couple of times. Yes, GRIND. In all my time as an IT professional (25+ years), I have never come across a drive that was in such bad shape that it made such a grinding noise.
