I bought a white set for a children's party. You were wonderful! They are not translucent at all, completely white. As for some slab thickness reviews - see how many slabs you get for the price. I am sure that everyone has chosen these cymbals because of the style and the unbeatable price. At this price, it's impossible to buy Frisbee-thick plates. Come on. The smaller plates were designed to easily hold the cake and fruit while the larger plates held sandwiches, fries, sauces, etc. I didn't see a single person having problems. I saw where someone commented on beans and brisket. It's a pretty heavy meal. Use both hands to hold the plate if this is such a big deal. In terms of price and style, you really can't go wrong with this set. I would buy them again in a heartbeat!
