I have the Thermoworks ThermaPen which is one of the entry level ones and costs about $40. When I compare it to this Nycetek, it reads almost instantly while Nycetek takes another 4 or 5 seconds to get used to. If you're cooking on a hot grill, you need to read right away. Seems to be within 1 degree or so of Thermoworks so I think it's pretty accurate, just disappointed in the speed when the listing says "fastest chip in the industry" and 2 second read. It's not even close, so it's a blatant invention! It's easy to read and has good features, but no false advertising!
