Do It Yourself Repair

I'm not a particularly hands-on person, but I'm willing to try and fix it myself if I think it can be done. My Kenmore Powermate Wheels vacuum has gotten really cool over time. They were very wobbly and did not rotate easily. Even though the vacuum cleaner is a few years old it works great and I didn't want to change it or buy a new head which is quite expensive. I did a search and found on youtube how to fix the problem and decided to give it a try. I bought new wheels and a new base unit from Revain. I watched the video a few times, felt comfortable with the project, and then got to work. I photographed every step with my cell phone. Taking everything apart was very easy, but putting it back together was a bit of a hassle. Trying to get all the wires back into place was a problem for me, but I persevered. My vacuum is now clean inside, has new wheels and works like a dream. If you are having the same problems as me I would recommend these replacements and they appear to be original equipment as they were exactly the same as the ones I replaced. If you have hands, this is something you can do, so go for it.
