I bought this lens used but it was in good condition. It focuses fairly quickly, much faster than a telephoto lens. But that's what you expect from a prime lens. Boca is good, but it would be much better if it had a larger aperture. However, f/2.8 is suitable for portrait photography. I usually use 50mm for portraits at f/1.4. However, I've heard again and again that the 85mm is great for portraits. But I had no intention of spending my money on a ridiculously expensive one. I think this lens is very suitable for my purposes. And I think it's a great lens for those who are just starting out. It's important to have the right gear, but it's even more important not to waste money. This lens will definitely get the job done without spending too much money. If you're buying a used lens, don't spend more than $100. When you buy new it's hard to tell, just look around and find the best price.
