Review on 📺 Winegard Elite Outdoor HDTV Antenna – 70 Mile Range for VHF and UHF Channels by Kevin Shimmens

I live in Northwest Florida (Pensacola) and installed my first antenna 18 years ago. antenna mast. All of them were disappointing as they received digital terrestrial broadcasts especially when the station was using the old VHF which my local Fox and one independent still use. the local Fox station whose transmission tower is 54 miles west of me. Luckily this man lived 5 miles south of me. He then informed me that the only outside antenna he found would pick up all stations in our area. including VHF this is a Winegard Flatwave "FL6550A" which advertises a range of over 60 miles so I bought it and installed it and to my surprise I got 37 clear channels including VHF. It was 5 years ago. Short Story When I saw Winegard introduce the Winegard Elite, I knew I needed one to connect even more stations. My plan was to use a splitter and send Old Flatwave east so I could receive 4 stations in that direction. So the old flatwave was coming down and the new elite was coming up then I went in and scanned the channels and looked and saw I only had 19 stations and NO VHF stations, although I used my compass to put Elite for all of the to steer in the right direction the cell towers that are set up to the west of me and then when I went outside and did some fine tuning and did a rescan and that was the worst I decided to install my old Flatwave to see If I had a bad connection, I did, and I went back to 37 stations, including FM. I would like to add that the installation and completion of this so called Elite antenna is a joke as Winegard charges for it, you would think it would be more durable but when I opened the box and saw that it is 95% cheap plastic, I knew it wouldn't last 2 years in the sun and high winds here in Florida. The included screws are actually Corsican "self-tapping" threads that cut into the plastic when screwed in. So if you overtighten them, it's just a bit of your toast as the plastic hole pops out.
