Review on Nikon 80 400Mm F 4 5 5 6G Vibration Reduction by Kenkoy Braggs

I have several Nikon long prime lenses and love them. But they are relatively heavy and don't offer zoom flexibility. The old version of this lens was a dog lens and I couldn't recommend it - I tested it, couldn't buy it. Many years later, Nikon finally revised this lens and found success. It's taller and heavier than most zooms people are used to, but it's a fraction of the size/weight of the larger ones. In my early comparison shots with this, Primes and other zooms I'm familiar with, this one performed well. Its main weakness will be in low light, and that really applies to both the camera and the lens. When used with a DX camera it's a bomb (field of view equivalent to 120-600mm) while on an FX body it also shoots very well and at a higher FX level less light will be less of an issue. . The autofocus reacts very quickly and the images are sharp. You can hold it hand-held, but I would recommend using it on a tripod/monopod, especially if you're using it with a DX body. Great lens for wildlife. I've tried a bit with teleconverters but I think it's pushing the limits and I wasn't happy with the results.
