I have a V8 Miata and the IAT sensor was behind the radiator. The OEM wiring harness was not long enough to move the sensor. This area is a very hot place. As hot air was registered as the environment, the ECM changed the timing and the power dropped sharply. This was done to put the IAT sensor in a spot in front of the radiator where the air is really ambient air. HUGE difference in performance! Now time doesn't slow down. You feel the difference when the car pushes you into the seat!
