I am not disappointed, the quality is satisfying.

It's just a good starting glass. With him, after leaving Canon, I shot several thousand frames and naturally moved to the next step. Changed to Sigma 17-70. But if you do not have the financial ability, then purely technically the 18-105 remains a worthy lens in its niche. Different pros: The advantages of this lens, in my opinion, are comparative. If we take the functional and price analog of Canon'a, ie. 18-135, which also goes like a whale to some cameras, then the Nikon lens is significantly superior to it. XA, distortion and artifacts are several times less, but, most importantly, there is almost no drop in resolution at the long end. Despite the fact that I had to pull out a 24 MP matrix (Nikon D7100). The Canon 18-135, which stood at 18 MP 60D, frankly had grain on the long end, i. E. it did not cover the matrix. Has some cons The usual disadvantages of whale glass are aperture ratio, general average characteristics, etc.
