I bought the Mountek Snap+ because I was fed up with the suction cups and adhesives that come with autodocks. After researching other similar products and reading many reviews, I took the risk of using Snap+ with its many promising features. The Mountek is well built, I didn't feel like it was cheaply made. It also installed easily in my 15 Ford Focus ST CD slot. The biggest advantage for me was that it could fit a phablet. I've been using this mount for about 9 months with a Nexus 6 case with Seidio Dilex. I first wedged the metal in the dilex layers to see if it would hold, but despite sticking to magnets, my phone was very slow to slide while driving. After trying it a few times, it seemed to work better in portrait mode, but I prefer my phone in landscape mode. The portrait view held up much better, but shifted over time. After that, I decided to add a metal insert to the outside of the Dilex case, which solved a lot of my slip issues, but created another problem, or at least one I hadn't noticed before. What happened when I was riding or hitting small bumps was that the ball joint/bracket section moved down. The ball joint mount cannot be tightened to fix its position. In my book this is a big mistake as other mounts have this very simple function and I don't understand how this mount can hold a small tablet when it can't hold my Nexus 6. I still use it in my car because it works for the most part, and I was able to keep it from falling by putting a small tower of microfiber between the ball joint. But I'm looking for an alternative product that I hope doesn't have these flaws, or if Mountek fixes these problems I'll buy this version. Users can add to their mount if they want to further secure their device. Having to buy them separately feels like nickel and blackout.
