Review on SEO-optimized: Simple Modern 22oz Summit Water Bottles with Straw Lid - Vacuum Insulated Tumbler Double Wall Travel Mug 18/8 Stainless Steel Flask - Shimmering Rose Quartz by Kim Major

Great bottle but not as good as the old Summit bottles

I wish I could give this particular bottle 3.5 stars but I can't. I'm a water bottle snob. I've owned and used a ton of bottles. From glasses to plastic, from filter bottles to stainless steel. The Simple Modern Summit bottle is definitely one of the best. I had a 32oz summit for about 4 years and wanted to upgrade to 40oz. Before purchasing my 32oz bottle I was very hesitant as I had had very bad experiences with stainless steel bottles in the past. In the end I took a chance and bought it. No regret. When I wanted a larger size, I knew Summit was the only bottle that would interest me. After discussing the colors and doing a little research, I finally settled on one. It arrived within 2 days, undamaged and in unopened packaging. The first thing that struck me is how much lighter it is when completely empty than my smaller 32-ounce bottle. The next thing I noticed was how much thinner the bottle seemed. Now it might just be a coating, my 32oz bottle is powder coated and engraved, not smooth like the 40oz bottle I bought. I'm a little concerned that the beautiful paint on this bottle will wear and peel over time, but I'll cross that bridge when it does. I will say that I am afraid that even the smallest drop or improper handling will crush this bottle. It's unnerving because I'm not a graceful person lol. I use this bottle every day for work so I had to make sure it would last and most importantly keep the water cold. First I tried it with a straw lid. I hate ALL straw lids. This one made me feel no different. The straw is thick and difficult to suck. The top, even after several rigorous washings, left a plastic taste in my mouth with every sip. Since I knew I hated the straw lid, I immediately bought the "Chug Lid". My 32oz has a puff top and although it took me a while to get used to it at first, I really like it. The puff cap made me love the 40 ounce bottle much more than just a straw cap. The chaga lid is completely leakproof and keeps the water cold for 24 hours - with ice. I don't think this bottle insulates as well as my 32oz, but honestly it lets me drink water faster so my ice doesn't melt. Since I'm not a graceful and completely clumsy person, it was clear to me that I had to handle the situation better for everyday life. I've always wanted paracord just because I think they look cool and couldn't wait to get one for my new bottle. I chose the WEREWOLVES brand and was very satisfied. I also chose a boot, not because I hated the sound of a bottle banging on a table, but because I was worried about dents. Wasn't the right color for this bottle but I think Navy Blue (Deep Ocean) looks pretty good. All I knew was that I didn't want black. The shoe fits perfectly and doesn't slip off even though I'm constantly taking the bottle in and out of my bag. Overall I'm giving this bottle 3.5 stars because I have a previous Summit bottle to compare with. Without previous knowledge I would probably give it a 4.5.
