I coat my cars with ceramic. This is NOT the type of applicator I would use for this purpose. It absorbs and ends up wasting too much of the product. However, this applicator is great for applying various top coats. There are many products on the market designed to improve the hydrophobic properties of a ceramic coating or its smoothness. When I apply these products I usually use one of those cheap yellow foam applicators and they work well. Thanks to the integrated handle, you don't have to worry about the applicator slipping out of your fingers. The UFO is also made of significantly higher quality foam. This makes the product easier to apply and massage into the car paint. I'm all about durability and cost. At the current UFO price you can buy a lot of yellow foam rubber applicators. If the UFO holds up after repeated uses, it has justified its price. If it's deteriorating quickly, it's time for a re-evaluation. I will update this review if any problems arise. This is a really good app. If it lasts then the price is justified.
