I'm trying sealing wax for the first time and I really like it! I will say that as other users have pointed out, I don't think it's real wax, but some sort of synthetic mixture. Real wax stamps are meant to "pop" when you open them to read your correspondence. They are very rubbery in texture and don't break at all. This means they hold up better after handling the post with my hand, but that kind of loses the feel I was aiming for. When trying to open envelopes sealed with it, he simply tore the envelope. Too bad. And yes, it smells a lot like melting plastic when heated, not wax. Definitely not a deal breaker, but be aware. The product is easy to apply and dries quickly.
