I used to use TP-Link network adapters because that's the only way I can get a reliable network connection in my apartment. I recently upgraded my internet speed (from 100Mbps to 200Mbps) so I needed a faster adapter (my old adapters were rated for 100Mbps) and chose TP-Link to allow the new devices work well with my old ones. They are advertised with a data transfer rate of 500 Mbit/s, and the adapter itself says "500 Mbit/s" directly. I thought this would help. But now that I've gotten them home, I've found that TP-Link is openly lying about the device. It is NOT able to reach 500 Mbps. These adapters are severely limited to 100Mbps connections due to the cheap ethernet port they come with, and thus cannot offer higher speeds. Information on this page and on the device itself. There is no point in buying these overpriced adapters when a cheaper adapter will give you exactly the same connection speed (100 Mbit/s). I am very disappointed in TP-Link, a company I have had good experiences with in the past. I will not buy any TP-Link products in the future unless they can even honestly say what those products do when they sell them to me. I would happily pay more for a device that actually runs at 500Mbps because now I've just wasted my money. Now I'm stuck with a set of overpriced adapters that are exactly the same as the cheaper models I've had and offer no additional performance for the high price. Absolute waste of money and time.
