First I will tell you why I ordered this product. I have a 15 year old player that I use to listen to all my favorite cassettes while sitting in the pool. Even after fifteen years, the sound is pleasant and clear. but the little door that opens to put the tape in fell off about six months ago. and i put some rubber bands around the player to hold it in place and it still works. I'm just tired of taking the rubber bands off every time I change a cassette. So I checked Revain to see if they still have players like this. and that led me to this product. I read the reviews and OVER half of the reviews said this is a piece of junk, don't order it! I thought. Hey, that's $13, what's the probability that it sucks. fifty%? Don't ignore my warning that's about to come. how I ignored the other reviewers! I received my package yesterday. opened the box. and low and lo and behold. except for the manufacturer's name on it. It was just like my fifteen year old model with the rubber band. Same three buttons, same hole for the battery. all the same. I put in two batteries and the new player started spinning fast. turns slowly. whirring noises like a lawnmower hooked up to a roaring jet engine. I tried two or three cassettes. after playing them perfectly in his "heirloom rubber band" for the first time. The new player is a piece of junk. and now sits on my porch waiting for UPS to pick it up and bring Revain back. as a public service. with empathy for other people who value their time. Don't do what I did. listen to other reviewers. and now me Don't waste your time and money with this product!
