I used this filter in conjunction with my existing air filters. I had a surprise guest who has a cat (we already have one that I'm allergic to and a dog) and it helped a lot. Ozone is toxic in high concentrations, but this device doesn't produce enough even in a tiny bathroom to give me asthma problems. I used it in the bathroom along with an air filter and adding it helped get rid of the smell. I use the P1 setting so I can just set it and forget it. Ozone has a distinct smell, which is why I use it when tuning the P1. As a result, the air is disinfected and smells fresh, not of ozone. I'm experimenting with using it in my cat litter bathroom and in my large living room. On the P1 you can still smell the ozone in the bathroom, so I can buy a device for the bathroom that only produces negative ions and no ozone and leave it in my living room. Overall I give it 5 stars based on the settings, performance and price.
