I'm gradually replacing extremely hazardous plastic power supplies with metal power supplies throughout the house. Plastic extension cords are very dangerous and having personally seen them short out internally, melt and catch fire, I will never buy a plastic extension cord again. They have a solid metal body, and what feels solid also applies to mid-size forks. This is a mid-range fork at best, but it's perfect for low-voltage tools and doesn't require a lot of abuse. If you need an extension cord for a shop that is out of service try to spend a little more, but if you need an extension cord for permanent installation and medium power this is a good choice.
