The cut works for me. I have long arms and I find it difficult to lift them up. With these pajamas I was able to avoid the problem. When I first put them on I was amazed at how SOFT they felt against my skin. i am an old gentleman I didn't realize how comfortable it is to have a layer of fabric between the chest and arms. I'm 5'10" and 245 pounds - am working on losing some weight. Size XL fits me perfectly.
