Benro 3XS > DJI Mobile 3

I bought this gimbal as well as the DJI Mobile 3. They are essentially identical in terms of controls and the app has some minor differences but is basically the same (DJI has a crosslinker in EZ mode that merges your videos). easier editing, the 3XS doesn't have this feature, but everything else like panorama, time lapse can be done with both gimbals). I decided to leave the Benro 3XS gimbal in place of the Mobile 3 for a number of reasons. PRO:1. You can connect short audio/charging cables from your phone to the base of the phone mount (on top of the gimbal). This feature alone makes it a lot better than the Mobile 3 because you don't have to run longer cables. It acts as a passage to the handle.2. On the handle Audio 3.5. This allows you to plug the 3.5 TRRS microphone directly into the base of the gimbal, which leads to the top of the gimbal where the short cables that go to your phone are. This makes management more rational. The same applies if you don't have a headphone jack, you can use the USB-C -> 3.5 TRRS.3 connector. The base of the gimbal (below) has a charging port, so you can use a battery to charge the gimbal itself and charge your phone at the same time. Anyone who uses their phone to record videos knows that battery drain is a big problem and this at least helps to solve the problem. Wireless charging for the 3XS model. Note that my phone doesn't have wireless charging (Pixel 3A) so I can't confirm this feature, but it's definitely a pro if you're using a phone that supports wireless charging. Testing with different cables, power adapters and sockets. I've come to the conclusion that the wiring in the 3XS gimbal still uses 2.0 standards, not 3.1 or 3.1 Gen 2. If you don't know what that means, you most likely won't get fast charging from your fancy batteries and cables USB -C --- TEST SCENARIOS ---### ABOVE USB-C (behind phone mount) ###USB-C -> USB-C cable (90 degrees) by Benro - WORKING (slow charging) USB-C cable -> USB-C - NOT WORKING (cable not supplied by Benro) (USB-C -> USB-A adapter) to (cable USB-A -> USB-C) - WORKING (cable/adapter not supplied by Benro)# ## BOTTOM USB-C port (at the base of the stabilizer) for charging. ###USB A -> USB C - WORKING (it can be 3.1 or 3.1 Gen 2 cable or standard 2.0) USB-C -> USB-C (90 degrees) - NOT WORKING (cable provided by Benro ) USB-C -> USB-C (90 degrees) - NOT WORKING (cable not supplied by Benro) (USB-C -> USB-A adapter) to (USB-A -> USB-C cable) - WORKING NOT working (cable/adapter not provided by Benro) ) In ALL scenarios the phone will only charge slowly/normally. Charging the gimbal does not indicate if it is a "fast" charge, but it will charge. Overall I like this gimbal because I can use an external microphone and charge my phone while keeping everything very streamlined with passes. This keeps my payload light, which is really what this setup is for. I don't have a lot of cord and it can easily break when I have to unplug my phone. My only wish is for Benro to go the extra mile to at least charge the internals fast/fast, otherwise what's the point of making Type-C ports? That's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars.

Pros
  • Long battery life: The 3XS lasts 24 hours on a single charge.
Cons
  • High price
