GREAT training tool

I use the MILLER MFG (8QT) pet feeder for dog training. We turn them upside down and use them as a stand for the dog to rest its front paws on while training. Sometimes we also fill them with food and water. These pans are from Miller Mfg. splendid. Especially on the 8 QT they have a reinforcing strip of extra rubber on the bottom of the pan to give it strength. Most other pans I've tried don't have a rubber reinforcement strip on the outside of the base, so they collapse under the weight of an 80-pound dog. Miller pans hold and hold the dog. Be sure to buy ONLY MILLER MFG. They are the best on the market. I bought pans that were supposed to be MILLER and when they came out they were FORTEX which weren't that strong for upside down use. I'm sure FORTEX will still work for feeding. But for use as a tripod, the MILLER MFG is the best. My dogs also chew everything into small pieces, they didn't tear it up and they don't seem to be able to either. Sometimes they use them as toys and treat them roughly without damaging them at all. I've had my first set in over 2 years and they look brand new. Good product. Updated 3/2013. We now use Miller MFG 4 Qt feeders for our dobermans, the feeders are a bit smaller but I think they are even better for dogs to teach them to stay in one position when coming out of the rack. sit down to get up and come back to sit down and get up again. . Keep your front feet in the same spot on the pan for competitive training. It's also good for practicing heel position when turning in place. This is HP-2 which is 4 QT or 1 gallon. but either the larger 8QT or the smaller 4Qt both work fine as long as they are MILLER MFG. Dogs run around with food bowls in their mouths and play with them. they are pulling towards each other and the object is still standing. cannot damage it. Years later they look like new.
