I was searching the market for a chrome plated bathroom trash can with lid but polished stainless steel was as close as I could find; for at least less than $100. I liked its aesthetic and it had pedals and a cover, and for $25 it was a solid buy. Although some people complain about it, it's a bit bigger than my old trash can and big enough for my small bathroom. I was also a little concerned that it would be too light and fall off when I press the pedal based on feedback from others, but that wasn't an issue at all. It had some very pleasant surprises, most notably a silent-closing lid. This feature wasn't advertised and I didn't think this feature would end up in the trash at this price point. The lid also opens slowly and smoothly and doesn't rattle against the wall like my other trash can. The material doesn't really smear and the embossed name on the lid is barely perceptible. Unless you want your lid to open with a motion sensor or whatever, you really don't need to spend more than $25 on a trash can. this one is pretty much perfect.
