I bought 10 pieces to convert the cockpit lights on my boat. They are inexpensive compared to alternatives and work great. Nice warm glow, not harsh white or bluish like some of the other bulbs I've bought. Unfortunately, there are several different types of lamps and sockets on the boat, which do not suit everyone. So I order BA15d sockets to replace other lamps. So they will all use the same bulb and I will order 10 more of these. In some cases I simply removed the old mismatched socket and soldered the 12vdc leads directly to the bulbs themselves. Because of their durability, I won't have to worry about replacing them for many years anyway.
