This printer is a cost issue. It's clear that even Canon has better printers. There are also printers that are cheaper. What interests me most when buying something is the relative value of the item. So the MP150 should get 5 stars. This is very good value for money: a quality printer for moderate home use. Printing is fast and of high quality. 4x6 borderless photos are what I would call very good (I haven't printed any larger). I've seen better photos, but not in this price range. You will be very satisfied with the occasional or rare photo you print out for friends, family or yourself. The shots look a little crooked towards beige, but I don't notice any grain or lines. It won't quite replace a photo studio or online vendor, but with the low cost of digital photo printing at a local pharmacy, 90% of us shouldn't be too concerned about a very, very high quality home print. Pict Bridge comes in handy, and Canon claims photos won't disappear for 100 years if saved to their respective albums. Regular document printing is also good. Not exactly a laser, but anyone who needs to print regularly for business should at least invest in a cheap laser. No ink-based printer will do what you need if you have a home office. Scanning is very easy and convenient. Their software lets you do all sorts of imports and scans, which while not lightning fast, are pretty good. Copying is easy: place your document on the glass (and with the auto-adjusting lid, you can easily copy books up to 1"-2" thick), press the black or colored button, and finished. The computer does not need to be turned on. The paper tray leaves something to be desired, but not too much. It's a bit flimsy and doesn't give you much confidence that it will pull the paper properly, although so far it has for me. I like the one-way path that paper takes. Paper is fed in from the top and ejected directly from the front. This makes labeling easier and more successful. The printer looks very good when feeding paper, without the stuttering or glitches common to some HP printers. Canon offers four ink cartridges for this printer: PG 40 (black) and PG 50 (high yield black) as well as CL41 (color). ) and CL51 (high capacity color). Some say it doesn't accept high cap cartridges. I haven't tried yet. As far as I can see the printer can take forever to start printing even though it's quite fast. It almost always takes me enough time to believe the printer isn't printing. Then when I go to remove the paper and try again, it starts up just before I get there like it's been waiting for me to make the first move! The tray is designed for 100 sheets of paper. No way. More like 50 if you're lucky. The ink is high quality and the heads are part of the cartridge, but the ink consumption is above average. Regular cartridges are rated for around 200 pages and since there are no multi-color cartridges, if you run out of one color you will run out of them all. Finally, compared to its competitor (HP1401), it is both more expensive and larger. . However, I would prefer the MP150 to the HP (and having both, I should know).
