Essential for hiking. 40 x 72 is a great size to use in the shower or even to dry clothes or as a beach/picnic towel. . Machine washable, dries very quickly. However, be careful if you get completely wet. It will take several days to dry unless placed directly in the sun or in a dryer. With regular use after showering, it dries in just a few hours. It is also very soft and pleasant to the touch. One complaint (and a reason for the four-star rating) is that the smooth texture actually makes it harder for your body to absorb water, and using it after a shower is a whole different experience.
