Review on πŸ”₯ Enhanced Motorcraft DG511 Ignition Coil for Optimal Performance by Adam Price

Revainrating 5 out of 5

These are factory OEM coils. the best.

These are factory OEM coils. Don't buy cheap clones that come in multipacks of 8. Also, don't buy high-performance "racing" models from OEMs. These are the only ones that will last, as evidenced by hundreds of posts on F-150 message boards. Mine came in a factory sealed plastic bag. If it doesn't come in a sealed motorcycle plastic bag, it could be a fake. Don't repeat my mistake and don't buy cheap eight packs the cheap way. They will end up replacing all of them one by one as they fail within two years. Ask me how I know. Normally the coils do not wear out. Usually the rubber boots fail and a spark grounds the engine through the boot. If you replace spark plugs and are thinking about swapping out OEM coils as preventative maintenance, don't do it. Change your boots instead. You can buy 8x shoe kits here on Amazon (Standard Motor Products (CPBK240) for my 2004 F-150 5.4 3V. Protective cover with coil. They come with all new 8x shoes and contact springs. Remove the coil. Remove the old shoe and Spring and discard. Install a new boot and spring. Apply dielectric grease to the contact points on the coil and the connector contact points with the spring case and replace as new doesn't work, you can use an Android device (phone/tablet) with the $4.99 program called "Torque Pro" and a Bluetooth OBDII adapter to scan "Results" with the engine running and wait until each cylinder's misfire readings are displayed It will take a few minutes for misfire data to appear in the Test Results list Drive your car around and hopefully it will Telling you exactly which cylinder is misfiring so you know which coil to replace. Hope this helps. I now have 225,000 miles (as of August 2017) on my 2004 F-150 5.4 and I have changed the spark plugs 3 times.
