This was my first phono preamp. As far as I can tell it works great, my 40 year old TT was worn out, it didn't have a preamp. So I went one step further and bought a new TT with a preamp. Audiophiles will tell you to rip out the old preamp for that particular TT and use a separate preamp. I didn't want to void the warranty so I kept the preamp. The ART STILL preamp works amazing! The soundstage opened up, clarity improved thanks to the same Ortofon pickups. And I couldn't believe the price for this complete product! When most good preamps cost hundreds to thousands I really don't know what they can do that this one can't. Pay particular attention to the instructions on WHERE to connect the preamp to the inputs of the receiver/built-in amplifier, DO NOT CONNECT TO THE PHONO JACKS. Locate an open aux or tape jack to connect. Have fun while listening!
