Soft lead breaks very easily
This proves that not all pencils are created equal. My Home Depot pencils are strong, but I bought them so I wouldn't have to go in a big box. The wood is soft, the handles break easily - as many times as I've used a pencil every two or three times. I sharpened it to a very short point (there wasn't enough lead) and the lead broke in the wood. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I have a sharpener (useful) and a plastic tube (not useful). pencils in the trash.
