Review on πŸ’‘ Noctua NH-U9DX i4 Brown Xeon LGA20xx CPU Cooler: Premium Cooling Solution for Intel Xeon Processors by Jim Agosta

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Impressive speed, easy installation, premium product on narrow ILM

Used on X9 SuperMicro LGA-2011 board which requires narrow ILM. As seen in the photos (before I reinstalled the fans) it cleans my DIMMs perfectly. This fits in a 4U case with free space. In this case, the idle temperature on my Xeon E5-2667 is 28 C. Under full load, it reaches 61 C. Outside the case, I actually saw the idle temperature drop to 26 C. Fans are included, a Y-cable to connect both fans to a splitter, various mounting brackets for different socket configurations, an Allen wrench to tighten the screws on the socket, two built-in low-noise fan adapters, and an instruction manual. I used a Y-cable but ended up throwing away the low-noise adapters because the thing was pretty quiet without them. The kit also included a syringe of Noctua NT-H1 thermal compound. The instructions were easy. Replacing the brackets on my slim LGA-2011 only took a few minutes. I liked that I had the option to mount the cooler as shown in the photos or rotate it 90 degrees. The fans are easily removed and replaced with a stretched wire holding them onto the fins.
