JUST BUY IT for rough plumbing

Took hours to install under the sink of our finished basement. The most time consuming part is due to the fact that we are new to the plumbing industry. It took us 3 trips to the hardware store to get all the parts right. We took the lid and instructions and it helped. Additional trips were only necessary to troubleshoot problems with our existing installation. That being said, really the hardest part, as others have mentioned, was getting an even seal between the lid and the sink. The KEY is to lightly tighten each screw individually. Make about 2 full turns on each nut, going around the pelvis about 15-20 times. (More? We've lost count.) Gradually tightening each bolt at the same rate allows the gasket to stretch evenly. After we figured out this method, installing the gasket took less than 10 minutes. We didn't use a check valve because we only raise the water 4-5 feet (and there really wasn't room in the closet). ) The drain hole on the included white drain pipe is in the wrong place. It's at the bottom of the pump, not at the top. But we assumed research, and we don't think it makes much of a difference. I don't know if it was mentioned in the instructions. However, make sure the power cord is loose before it reaches the outlet. This will prevent water running down the power cord into the outlet. Works pretty quiet. It's definitely hard. But still easy enough for 2 people to drive. Appears to be well built. So we expect it to last a LONG time with proper care! WE ARE VERY SATISFIED!
