I switched my dog to a more natural flea treatment after a very bad reaction to a prescription drug (Nexgard). This collar seems to work, but after all that California rain and year-round fleas, I double it down with a Wondercide spray. So far, so good. It is important to note that it does not kill fleas. They can still jump on your pet, but they always need to be repelled, so treating your home, bedding, and yard is still important. And I also use Wondercide for that. As we approach the 3 month mark I notice that it is not as effective. It smells strongly of geraniol oil right out of the box, but it's slow to dissipate, which is also a good indicator that it's time to change the collar. These are the Alzoo and Earth Animal brands, the same collar, just the smell of mint.
