From the outside you can definitely tell which ball is pink and which is blue. However, I saw that in reviews before buying. So the ultrasound technician sent us home with the right one in the box. We left it in the box up to the bottom opening and took it out without looking at it. We had a big blue explosion on contact! It was great for our sex reveal party and for the photos! It would have been 5 stars if you couldn't tell what color it was beforehand, but we got over it.
