I don't know why it has such rave reviews. I've been using it for 2 months and I've got a few issues with it: 1 - The battery life is terrible. I have to charge it after 8-10 uses (lighting candles). That might seem like a lot, but if you light a lot of candles, you'll need to recharge them every other day. Charges 1-2 hours. Pretty boring. 2 - The bow connectors are so close together that when the candles are lit, the wick at the ends constantly burns out. This causes it to stop working. So you have to wipe the connectors (which will tear the tissue/cloth you're using), clean them, plug them in for a while to charge, and then start working again. Very tiring. 3 - It takes a relatively long time to light something. Again, as the slits are very tight/narrow you need to ensure the wick is inserted into the hole to ignite by holding it there for 5-10 seconds to allow the wick to ignite. A bit boring. In general I do not recommend. Maybe it's not just because of this model. Perhaps this is a common problem in the design of an electric lighter. it's just not worth the disappointment.
