Review on 🎣 Garmin Striker Plus 4 Review: Dual-Beam Transducer Features (010-01870-00) by John Anaya

Bought exclusively for ice fishing. I also received a handheld kit from Garmin. For the first time on the ice, the device showed itself perfectly. I was at 30 feet and set the transducer to 200kHz for a narrower cone angle. I have a flasher that I usually use for ice fishing and I thought I'd use it in this case too, but I've used Garmin's A-Scope card more. I liked how I saw the story of what was happening, how the fish reacted to my jig. I used a standard boat sensor. I did not purchase a Garmin ice sensor and am not sure I will. It's very expensive, and what comes with the kit has proven to be very good. He was very good at catching hugging fish on the bottom. The screen is very bright and sharp. I didn't have any problems with the screen size, it's big enough. Edit 9-9-18: With the Garmin handheld kit I got, I decided to use it for open water fishing. Striker Plus 4 worked very well. I used it on my father in law's boat which already has a Humminbird sonar. But I didn't get any interference from Humminbird and Garmin showed everything Humminbird did. I've also used Garmin's mapping feature and it seems to be doing a great job with it. The lake I was on is over 1200 acres so I wasn't able to map most of the lake, but while we were trolling the Musks and Norse, Garmin mapped. The GPS worked great, as you would expect from Garmin. Overall I'm very happy with the Garmin Striker Plus 4. I was concerned that the 4 inch screen was too small for me. Maybe 5 inches is better? Yes, but since I didn't have enough money to buy a 5 inch model, I had to buy a 4 inch model, which turned out to be quite large, especially considering I'll be using it primarily for ice fishing and sitting pretty close your turn. Even with a portable kit it costs less than the new ice fishing flasher and I can use it in open water too. It has many more features than your standard ice fishing flasher and works just as well.
