Foodville's four-stage professional knife sharpener is a sight to behold. I didn't expect a simple, no-frills device to be as efficient and practical as it is. The knife was blunt before sharpening. As you can see in the first photo of the tomato, towards the end it tore the skin when cut. You will see in the photos that after sharpening, tiny fragments of the knife were left in each section. For me it was good. He told me that the sharpener was doing its job. I was happy to have a paper towel underneath me to pick up the tiny bits. I sharpened the knife as directed and then washed the knife to get rid of the residue. I tested the knife again on the same tomato. He cut without crushing the tomato or tearing the skin. He worked as he should. Easy to use, convenient to use and gives excellent results. If I had to say one negative thing about this product, I would say there is nothing that catches or cleans metal splinters from a sharpener. I was able to turn the sharpener upside down and gently tap a paper towel to remove residue (see photo). It worked well. * Please note: you must wash your cutlery after using this sharpener. There will be fragments / remnants of the knife. This isn't the product's fault, it's the way the metal was sharpened.
