Before purchasing I assumed the minimum weight was 5 pounds. I use it as a mount for my iPad Pro. I am using Ram X Mount. I added 3 metal Vesa mounts, each weighing just over 1lb, to add the necessary weight for the counterbalance. Together with the Ram mount, mounts and iPad I weigh over 5 pounds. I set the mainspring as loose as possible, and although it stays in a couple of positions, a little bump and it pops. My previous mount had no balance issues. I wanted to save myself the hassle of returning it. I wish it was longer, but I was trying not to spend a lot of money at the time.
