Not the waterproofing I'm used to

My overall experience with these LEDs has been good. I have a 5m strip with 60 LEDs per meter (300 in total). It's a continuous strip, with no solder joints in the middle like many other LED strips I've had in the past. I plugged it in and everything worked which was a huge relief given the many LED strip reviews I've read. Since this is a WS2813 you can cut each LED separately from the others and there are markings on the strip for that. What surprised me was the water resistance. I was expecting the strip to be fully covered in silicone, but it's actually in a silicone case. This can be good or bad depending on the use case. If you want to use short sections then cutting is easy and I suppose you can seal the ends fairly easily with hot glue (it didn't use caps like the manufacturer did at the end). The downside is that if you need a long strip, any tear or leak in the casing covering the strip will result in water ruining the entire strip, not just the LEDs closest to the leak. If that doesn't bother you then I can wholeheartedly recommend them based on my experience with them, but if you use them outdoors you might want to look into a better waterproof band.

  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
