Review on ๐Ÿ’ช Silver 1/2-inch Drive Split Beam Torque Wrench with Flex Head by Precision Instruments - PREC3FR250F by Rodney Bullock

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My friend has the same clip-on torque wrench and I really wanted one

My friend has the same clip-on torque wrench and I really wanted one. But I couldn't justify paying over 350 for one. After reading another review I found this accuracy for $140 and bought it locally. In general I am satisfied, but I had to clean and adjust the torque. It was pretty easy. When I first received it, there was small black deposits on the dial. So I removed the blue pin and gently blew air on the dial until they were all gone. Second, the transparent slopes move up and down a bit, so while I had access to them I just put a bit of glue on the underside where you couldn't see it when you put it back on. Last time he weighed about 4 pounds. per 100 foot pounds. But this torque wrench is the easiest to calibrate. There are 2 round dots covered with clear glue. One closer to the head and one closer to the handle. The setting is closer to the head. This course has 3 holes. 2 small holes of the same size and one larger one. Use a 2mm hex wrench and turn the larger hole in small increments to adjust. Then cover it again with some hot glue. I would give 5 stars because it's a great torque wrench but not with those little things. But I would buy it again and recommend it. Having a torque wrench that I could calibrate myself is PRICELESS.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
