The bolts allow slippage for the seat and steering that strip the metal/paint. Mostly cosmetic but the amount you need to tighten some of these bolts seems excessive to prevent slippage. It works great but the need to adjust or have the kids complain about the steering slipping down is troubling and can be dangerous. It isn't needed for too long though as your kid will pick up balancing very quickly and then you can go back to your normal bike training. These are amazing and I only wish we had them 30 years ago to learn to ride a bike on!
