My 12 year old dog has been wearing paws for 12 years now! They stay and protect their feet from salt and ice. They protect our floors from dirty paws. My dog is fine with this and has no problem slipping unless of course it's a big ice storm with icy sidewalks in which case we all slip but she's better than me! We live in a condo so she wears her paws 4 times a day on her daily winter walks. She is a Maltese Schnauzer mix, weighs 10 pounds and wears an X-Small. Order one big enough to stretch slightly and leave room for your toes. Never had a problem with her nails ripping pawz. She files her nails every 6-8 weeks. I dress her by holding her "belly up" in my lap and stretching her legs up (after she's donned a jumper or sweater), massaging her tummy during the process. I open them wide and glue them on. If you have a large dog, I recommend the abdominal massage. She has also vacationed with us many times in the Aspen Mountains in her Pawz. Just throw them away when they get dirty or wear out. These are NOT balloons even though they appear to be. The best product for dogs!
