Review on High-Performance MCR New Starter Motor: Compatible with Briggs 795121, 499521, 497461, 497401 & Deere AM106883, AM38136, AM39285 by Reza Cook

I bought this starter for my Speedex 1691 lawn tractor with a modified 16hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine. Installation was difficult as the flywheel eventually had to be removed, although an access panel was provided for such removal and replacement, although this is not the fault of the MCR starter. It's totally on B&S because of the bad design! However, the starter makes a strange grinding noise when starting which I have diagnosed as being under torque in the starter. Despite that sound, reminiscent of a Chrysler starter, it cranks the engine every time!
