Review on πŸ”§ Rothenberger 45-Degree Universal Flaring Tool - Model 222601 by Jeffrey Kue

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the best tools I've ever had, seriously

This is a real review, I bought this item at full price WOW that's all I can say. I broke a "heavy" flare tool that I bought at a local store, so I decided to try this instead of buying another split block tool. The highlights are amazing every time, perfectly smooth and shiny. The trick is knowing how tight to tighten and leaving it about 1/16 to 1/8 inch above the silver outer edge of the tool. I used it to cut some very thick 5/8 tubes for my mini split (the same tube that 'heavy tool' broke), thick 1/2, 1/4 and some regular 1/2 - and 1/-tubes to flare . Everything has become perfect. Another benefit of this block over a split block is that the split block leaves two lines on the outside of the flare where the two pieces meet, which I think makes for a looser connection when you tighten it, since the nut presses on these two. Unevenness instead of a perfectly flat surface (higher risk of leakage). Now that I know how well this tool works, I will never buy another flare tool again.
