Received this from Petco this Friday evening as I had a gift certificate and wanted to install it immediately. My cock doesn't feel good and I figured warm water would help so I bought this set plus a 7.5w heater. I prepared everything: gravel, small decor, filled with water. I took out the filter and rinsed the cartridge as instructed. I put it in the filter and the lid didn't close. There are small clips, nothing is broken or missing, it just won't close. I even took out the cartridge to see what the problem was - it still wouldn't close. I'll put the filter back in the box and see if they replace it. I hate taking everything apart. In the worst case I buy another filter. I just wanted to suggest that the top of the filter is working properly before tweaking anything. upset. But it's a pretty small tank. Update: I returned the filter part to Petco. They said to bend down (or cut) the tab on the filter cartridge and that should improve the seal. It closes better, but can still be a little more secure. This is a beautiful tank. My fish died before I could get it here as I put it in a shallow bowl to help it get to the top for more oxygen. I'm still not sure what's going on with him. I did everything to save him. I hope I can get another bed here. I'm going to put up the Betta Falls I got for Christmas and see if my two remaining males are doing well there.
