Bought for cutting large joints of meat and other large culinary projects. Bamboo looks beautiful and has an attractive shape. The board is solid and heavy (solid, not bulky) It doesn't slide on my countertop like some cheaper plastic boards do. I can bang things on it, drop things on it, and cut it without tearing or ruining the finish. The surrounding juice groove is well thought out and works well to keep my countertop dry with all but the most liquid of items (like a large watermelon). This is not the fault of the board of directors. Highly recommended for a durable, attractive and highly functional wooden floorboard.
