Our RV supports ZAMP Solar Ready and I use it as a pigtail between the RV and the solar panel connector cable to minimize the stress on more expensive cables. Most people know that the ZAMP patch cord uses the female end of the SAE connector for the positive pole and the male end for the negative pole, which seems like a great idea to mitigate a ground short when the cord is touching metal; however, this is the opposite of the polarity of the other system. If you use the correct end of this wire to connect to the ZAMP wire, RED means positive and Black means negative; However, if you swap the ends, the polarity will be reversed, which can lead to poor results when connecting to the ZAMP RV connector. To mitigate this potential disaster, I wrapped orange tape around the correct end of the pigtail that connects to the ZAMP cable, and then applied the same orange tape to the ends of the ZAMP cable to avoid tangling. Conclusion: This quick release strap has the right caliber and works with ZAMP solar modules. I would recommend using a voltmeter on the RV connector and on this harness to check this and determine the correct ends to connect to the RV and ZAMP wire.
