Has a headphone jack; I was surprised and pleased to find that even with headphones plugged in, the sound still came out of the speaker! This way I can use my noise canceling headphones to stop my spouse snoring and my spouse can hear the noise too. I use it for travel, when the internet is down or when I need to avoid the distraction/temptation of YouTube that keeps me up a few extra hours before falling asleep. My only issue with it is that it doesn't support Bluetooth... so I'm tethered to long headphone cords and tossing and turning a lot in my sleep, so I'm easily confused. Be sure to buy headphones with a very long cord. It can be operated on the mains or just with a battery. Charging takes several hours.
