I gave it 4 stars because I wanted continuous noise. There is a *factory reset* so I kept trying to clean the machine to get it into continuous mode. We needed a different white noise generator when Alexa (Amazon) and Google Home stopped generating white noise (they had apps, but they were different). I love the features of this machine. Tons of different types of white noise, as well as other sounds (like rain and piano, which is nice). Battery life is excellent, as is use while charging. Has a headphone jack; I was surprised and pleased to find that even with headphones plugged in, the sound still came out of the speaker! This way I can use my noise canceling headphones to stop my spouse snoring and my spouse can hear the noise too.
